Henna powder also called mehndi powder is an age-old herbal ingredient often included in home remedies to resolve various hair problems. The natural color of henna is reddish brown. Those who prefer only natural black hair opt for organic black henna powder. Generally, the mehndi powder is combined with amla or indigo powder often in varied proportions to transform the color.

Mixing specific readily available natural ingredients in your kitchen with henna gives you healthier and glossier hair.

  • Reduce Hair Fall

Hair fall can occur due to several reasons. If not treated on time, it will lead to partial alopecia. The following home remedy will strengthen hair roots and thus reduce hair loss.

Ingredients

  • Mustard oil-1 cup
  • Hibiscus flower- 3
  • Mehndi powder

Heat the mustard oil. Boil the hibiscus into the oil until the flower turns black. Strain the oil and keep it to become cool. Add a little bit of mehndi powder to the oil. Massage your scalp with the oil and cover with a shower cap.After 1 hour, use a mild shampoo to wash your hair. Using this oil twice a week will gradually reduce the hair fall problem.

  • Hair Conditioner

Dry and damaged hair increase the hair fall problem. Mehndi is tremendously useful for conditioning hair.

Ingredients

  • Henna powder (as required)
  • ½ cup curd
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients and apply it on the hair evenly and wait for 45 minutes. Don’t make the paste too thick as it may make your hair rough. Use cotton if the mixture drips. Wash your hair with any herbal shampoo. Adding curd to organic black henna powder will give you natural black, soft and silky hair.

  • Dandruff Treatment

Dandruff occurs due to fungal infection on the scalp which furthermore causes itchiness on scalp and hair loss.

Ingredients

  • 1tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  • Mehndi powder- soak overnight
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbspneem  leaves powder

Put fenugreek seeds to a glass of water and leave it for the entire night. In the morning, grind the soaked methi and strain the juice with the help of a piece of cloth. Add the juice and the rest of the ingredients into the overnight soaked henna powder.

Now apply this paste to the hair covering the scalp as well. Keep for 1 hour and wash off using an amla-based herbal shampoo.

Both fenugreek and neemhave anti-bacterial property.Lemon juice has vitamin C, which reduces dandruff and prevents it from coming back.

  • Hair Regrowth

Ingredients

  • Two eggs
  • Required quantity of henna powder as per hair length
  • 3 tbsp of castor oil
  • Water

Soak the henna in water overnight. Add all other ingredients in the morning and apply the mixture evenly from roots to the tip. Cover your hair with a shower cap and wait for 2 hours. Use herbal shampoo to wash your hair. Castor oil stimulates new hair growth and the protein of egg yolk will enrich hair strands.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 ripe papaya
  • Henna powder
  • Water 

Mix smashed papaya and banana with henna powder. Add required amount of water. Whisk constantly so that no lumps found in it. Apply the mixture on the hair evenly. Use mild shampoo to wash your hair after 1 hour.

 

Note: Always apply the henna mix with an applicator brush.If you make the paste a little bit thin then it will penetrate into the scalp and give you a healthy and lustrous hair from the roots.
